Agility
Agility offers a fun, fast paced, team sport for you and your dog. You will watch in amazement as your energetic canine learns how to navigate an obstacle course by jumping hurdles, climbing walls, zig zagging through weave poles, and darting through tunnels. What's even more amazing is how YOU learn to navigate the same course with them.
New students can now join every month. Each day and time agility is offered will be dedicated to that level indicated on the schedule. Once your dog is ready to advance, you will change to that levels day or time. You now pay by the month and have the ability to move at your own pace.

Courtney's credentials can be seen under Intermediate Agility. Even if your desire is to be noncompetitive in agility, Both are sure to give you and your dog the best start possible. This is a 8 week session / 1 hour per week.

April has an ADCh for USDAA, a MACH 2 for AKC and a UD. She is a 3x AKC Champion and 6x AKC Finalist. Not to be outdone, her little boy Bear who also has an ADCh and just finished his MACH 4 in 2006. Obedience
Enrolling your dog in an obedience class can very well be one of the best things you can do for both them and the family. Whether you are training for future competitions or just trying to get down some basic manners, starting with obedience classes is the way to go. Even if they are great at home. Taking what they've learned from you "on the road" in a class-like atmosphere is a great way to test their skills and your commands.
We will limit the number of students in each class, so please make your reservations early.
Puppy, Basic, and Intermediate Obedience will be taught by Carrie Goldstein. Carrie has had wonderful success with her classes here and has been requested to teach them one last time before our winter break. Carrie was a former Sea World trainer and brings to your class a fun and entertaining way to teach you and your dog. Her positive methods will help drive home the importance of continued obedience.
Puppy Basics:
For puppies 12 weeks to 6 months - This is the perfect time to start your puppy off on the right track. While learning the building blocks of basic obedience such as walking on lead, coming when called, sits and stays. Your puppy will be introduced to many stimulations they will see in the great outdoors. They will learn how to use ALL FOUR of their feet, and socialize with other puppies.
$75 - 6 weeks - 1 hour / 1 day a week.
We are so delighted to have Carrie Goldstein back after taking some time off to have her beautiful daughter. We suggest to start a dog for the first time with a 1/2 hour lesson and then continue with hour lessons if you choose. In the first lesson we will introduce your dog to sheep and look for a desire to work stock. We can do this for an individual or small groups/clubs (Group events may receive a discount. Call for details)

"Herding Dogs can be trained without ANY type of abuse or cruel measures
Patience and understanding is the key to molding an individual dog's instinct
into useful tasks" - Rodney Long
Dock Diving is a great new sport that K9 Country Club is participating in. We have recently found docks willing to take dogs who are already jumping. So to get your dog ready for the big time, if he's not already jumping off a standard dock, we need to get them out to our Beach Club first!! We tried having a Class but found that we can get more accomplished by working with a dog one on one for the full 30 minutes. Your dog will have an opportunity to work on land, on shore, and in the air. In addition you will get tips on other sports you and your dog may be interested in, as well as obedience tips. You must call in to make a reservation.

Flyball
Agility not fast enough? Try your hand at Flyball! This sport was designed with speed and more speed in mind. Dogs race against each other in a relay format while jumping over four hurdles and retrieving a tennis ball in the air that springs out of a box, than racing back to the finish line. All while other dogs are barking at the top of their lungs in anticipation of their next turn. We have been unable to find an instructor for K9CC so we are referring people to Alamo Racing Canines in San Antonio at this time. You can find them on line. Once you are training, if you join K9CC's membership, you can come out and use our Flyball equipment any time to practice.
