K9 Country Club offers a variety of classes and private lessons. As our students increase so will the number of classes we offer each session. Classes run for six weeks and meet once a week for one hour, unless otherwise noted. Award winning instructors dedicated to giving you the most for your investment teach each class. Most classes are held outdoors on our 8000 sq. ft. grass show ring.

 Board & Train Program

This program is designed for people who would like extra specialized training for their pet.

Our Board & Train Program is customized to each owner and their pet.

Your pet will board at our facility in our Basic Stay & Play package while working with one of our trainers on a daily basis.  You will start with a private session with your pet and trainer to go over everything you would like accomplished. You will also receive a lesson when you pick up your pet, to go over all that was taught and a follow-up lesson within two weeks after finishing the program.
Dogs must be at least 6 months old and current on all vaccinations.

There is a 2-week minimum for limited Obedience and a 4 week minimum for Herding and Agility.  Both herding and agility can be done on a 5-day week program where you pickup your pet on Friday and bring them back on Monday

Cost is $250 per week ($225 for members)

Please call Catherine Laria at 830-980-8476 for more details.

Vaccinations:

  • We require proof of DHLP-Parvo and Rabies vaccination for all dogs before your first class begins.  Bordetella is also required.   This vaccine is not routinely given unless you board or groom your pet.  Please check with your vet to see if you are current.  Some vaccines are only good for 6 months.
What You Need to Bring:
  • Although choke chains and prong collars will be allowed, all instructors reserve the right to eliminate them if they are not being used properly.
  • Bring a long Nylon or Leather leash for training.  Flexi Leads and Harnesses do not work as well during class.
  • Bring soft, desirable treats for your pet during class like chicken, hot dogs, liver, or cheese.  Hard biscuits or cookies are harder to chew and swallow while walking.
  • Do not feed your dog dinner before attending class.  They will get plenty of treats while training and they may be more attentive to you if they are a little hungry.
  • Classes are held outdoors and only cancelled if there is rain or freezing weather.  Please dress accordingly and call us if you have any questions about the weather here.  Sometimes we are vastly different from our San Antonio neighbors just 10 miles away.  Should class be cancelled we will pick up the next available regular day or another day agreed upon by the entire class.
  • You are signing up for six or four weeks of lessons (depending on the class) whether you attend all of the weeks or not.  K9 Country Club's class fees are extremely reasonable compared to other training facilities.  Therefore, no refunds will be given once class has started.
